Join railway historian Mark Jones BEM, on a guided railway heritage walk of Faversham, including the route of the former Faversham Creek Branch line and historical railway buildings. Dressed in his classic British Rail uniform, Mark will reveal stories from the past accompanied by old photographs.   Mark is a long standing railway employee with over 40 years service, and was named in the new year's honours list for services to the community and railway.   Estimated duration: between 2 hours 30 minutes max. Wed 16th to Sat 19th September 2026 From the source of the Westbrook to the Sea exhibition   16th to 19th September in St Mary of Charity, Faversham. An interactive exhibition celebrating the contemporary, cultural, built, industrial and natural heritage of our waterway. Our Creek and the chalk streams that run through the town define its topography and account for the ancient settlements which grew into Faversham. The route of the Westbrook from Painters Forstal to Stonebridge Pond, Faversham Creek to The Swale will be displayed in maps down the central aisle of the church. All those with an interest in the waterway that runs through the heart of Faversham are invited to join by exhibiting alongside the maps in a celebration of "the contemporary, cultural, built, industrial and natural heritage of our waterway."
